Parlatina is a boutique communications agency based in Zagreb, built on a tailor-made approach, focused on public relations, communication management, and public affairs.

Addressing business challenges in a contemporary communication environment is the starting point of every engagement. This model implies a limited number of projects and direct involvement in each of them, with a strong emphasis on understanding the context in which clients operate. Communication is shaped according to specific circumstances rather than predefined templates.

 

Our work spans the market, media, decision-makers, and institutions, while addressing both day-to-day communication and more complex reputational matters. Depending on the scope of engagement, we collaborate with leading professionals through a carefully built network of trusted partners.

 

The approach is grounded in over a decade of experience in leading Croatian media, across journalistic, investigative, and editorial roles, complemented by work in consulting. This background provides a clear understanding of how public narratives are shaped and how decisions are made.

 

Parlatina was founded in 2023 as a deliberate choice of this model of work.

“Parlatina” is an archaic Dalmatian word of Italian origin used to describe the art of witty and skilful spoken and written communication. It is sometimes used colloquially to ironically refer to long, endless speeches, while in Dalmatia today, the term is also used to denote local dialects and speech specific to particular communities and micro-locations.

Articulation of identity in the market through messaging, tone, and visual expression. Establishes recognisability, distinction, and internal coherence in how an organisation presents itself.

Campaigns & Advertising

Coordinated communication initiatives designed to shape perception and create visibility through structured messaging across channels. Translates strategic intent into visible, time-bound communication.

Events & Activations

Planning and execution of events, seminars, conferences, press trips, and tailored formats designed to generate visibility and shape narratives. Each activation is aligned with broader strategic objectives.

Digital & Social Media

Communication within digital environments, defined by continuity, responsiveness, and alignment with overall communication direction. Maintains presence, relevance, and narrative consistency in fast-moving contexts.

Content Production

Development of textual, visual, and multimedia content that translates strategy into clear communication outputs. Ensures consistency of message, tone, and positioning across formats.

PHILOSOPHY

Parlatina is intentionally structured as a boutique agency. Rather than covering a broad marketing spectrum, the focus remains on areas that require specialised knowledge, experience, and continuous investment in relationships and understanding.

Public relations and public affairs are treated as disciplines that rely on precision, context, and long-term credibility. This approach allows for a focused, deliberate way of working and a clear point of view in every engagement.

ABOUT
FOUNDER

Juraj Filipović is the founder of Parlatina, originally from Split and based in Zagreb.


His professional background is rooted in leading Croatian media, including Slobodna Dalmacija, Jutarnji list, RTL, and Večernji list, where he covered business and politics. During that time, he built extensive experience and a strong professional network. He was nominated twice for the Croatian Journalists’ Association “Journalist of the Year” award and received the Večernji list “Journalist of the Year” award in 2020.


His career then continues in communications consulting at 404, one of the largest communication agencies in Croatia, where he gains his most substantial experience in public relations. In 2019, he was awarded a silver medal at the Young Lions competition, organised as part of the Communication Days festival.
